Charity climb postponed due to COVID-19

This year, Ben’s Industry Leader Challenge was to be the charity’s biggest challenge ever. Ten teams from well-known automotive businesses including our Managing Director, Joel Combes, had volunteered to battle through 90km of extreme trekking, freezing temperatures, high altitude, brutal ascents, and severe weather to conquer the 5,895 metres tall Mount Kilimanjaro!

The objective was to climb one of the world’s most iconic peaks this October, in a period of just 10 days, pledging to raise a total of £500,000. This challenge was chosen to represent how everyone has their own mountain to climb at some point in their life – no matter who they are, what they do or where they come from.

As many are aware, Lawgistics are running a prize competition to help contribute towards this massive total, offering up to £500 off Lawgistics membership fee to the winners.

Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, the trek has been postponed and will now take place a year later in October 2021. Therefore, in accordance with Clause 6a of the Terms and Conditions, which states “the Promoter reserves the right at any time in exceptional circumstances to vary, withdraw, or extend the competition without notice” it is our intention to extend the deadline for the competition to the 30th November 2021 and the draw date to the 10th December 2021 owing to the current restrictions imposed in response to the pandemic.

We thank those businesses who have already participated in our prize competition and apologise for having to move the date. Sadly, many money raising events have been put on hold this year and this has left Ben, like many other charities, needing your donation more than ever. In extending the date of our prize competition, we know we will be able to meet our target.

For those who have not yet entered our competition, your support would be very much appreciated.
