I have to admit I am slightly behind the times on this update given that the “On your feet Britain” Campaign took place in April but I thought it was worth bringing it to your attention anyway.
This gives some very good tips on how to provide a healthy working environment for your employees who are sat down at desks all day, and yourselves if this applies to you.
If you have any employees who work at desks all day – they shouldn’t be!
Encourage them to stand up during phone calls, take regular breaks and walk around the office, walk to speak to colleagues instead of emailing them and consider investing in height adjustable desks so people can stand whilst they are working on their computer.
This may all seem like very small things but they do add up in the long run and will help to avoid any periods of long term sickness that all employers dread so much. So get standing!
